2025-07-23 MCC Hive Open Table

Getting one more play session out of my ScrumCon 24 terrain for MCC #1 “Hive of the Overmind”, we ran six players through the now classic (in my opinion) zero-level funnel module for Mutant Crawl Classics. I down-played the TMNT angle for this run through, leaning into the gamma world vibes without the complication of extra ninja rules etc.

Outcome - a high survival, rate mostly due to shutting off the access of the ants early through locked doors and destroyed computers. The blinded Overmind ant-borg was shot in the face with a Laser pistol and the heroes of the East Village escaped via the tunnel digging transport.

GM: Dave Players:

  • Anne - one death by rock fall, shot Overmind in face
  • Liam - arms ripped out by giant bee, hive intelligence
  • Chris - obtained root on a computer - how?
  • Dane - threw many spears
  • Julie - extra large haul of artifacts
  • Micah - gained mutation “Attraction Odor”
